The Main Factors Affecting the Marking Speed of Laser Marker

The main factors affecting the laser marking speed are divided into two aspects: internal factors and processing workpieces.

Internal factors

They are laser frequency, laser spot mode and beam divergence angle, laser power, reasonable optical shaping, auxiliary gas and material during processing. Internal factors are mainly paid attention to when selecting laser marker models in the early stage, and you should follow the advice of laser engineers to purchase.

Workpiece

They are mainly marking density, marking format, marking depth and laser spot size.

1. Marking density

In the case of the same format, the same spot, and the same depth, the higher the marking density, the slower the corresponding marking speed, because the density directly increases the marking area.

2. Marking width

Because the deflection area of galvanometer increases for large width marking, the marking speed is slower than that of the small width.

3. Marking depth

According to the requirements, if the marking depth needs to be deepened, the parameters of the laser marking machine need to be adjusted, and the power, current and other factors of the laser marking machine need to be increased. Therefore, these processes will affect the marking speed.

4. Laser spot size

The smaller the spot, the smaller the marking volume. Therefore, the larger the spot, the faster the marking speed.
